I have specialized experience in the marketing areas of product development, usability and design, and online marketing. The following are some examples of my work in these areas.
Product Development
This is a product plan for an original food website which provides weekly customized menu plans with recipes for dinner based on the user’s preferences. With detailed descriptions of the website features, market analysis, target segments, marketing/branding, and financials, this report identifies how this new product could profitably enter the market.
Usability and Design
Products based on user-centered design hold an incredible competitive advantage over those that fail to do so. Nothing is more frustrating than a product that is complex to use, which is why I am interested in making products more intuitive and easy to use.
Through a class on usability and design, I examined how visual design ties into the communicated message, evaluated websites based on design and usability principles, and created an original usability test.
Canon PowerShot Usability Assessment
A project testing the usability and functionality of a point and shoot digital camera. I tested ten users on the ease of use of a Canon Powershot and created a report summarizing the findings and offering recommendations on how to increase the usability of the project. This project illustrates my familiarity with usability testing which is a crucial element in the product development cycle.

The Remarkable Shift Towards Online Media
Advertising is increasingly moving towards the use of online media. Because consumers are spending more and more time online, advertisers find it logical to move their marketing efforts online. Online channels also offer more customer engagement which directly relates to increased brand affiliation. This essay outlines differences between traditional and online marketing channels, how the nature of advertising is changing, why this online shift seems more pronounced in the UK, and how consumer interaction with brands is evolving.
